On a recent shopping trip I found this lovely copy of Elizabeth – Our Queen by Richard Dimbleby. The book is in good condition and has a dust jacket. It is a nice souvenir to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the coronation.
There is a Spring Sale on in The Granny Square until Tuesday 26th March 2013. There are lots of lovely vintage items at bargain prices!
Pyrex Drinkups are fun, colourful, and useful vintage items. The plastic bases are often made in bright colours. The Pyrex glasses come out to make them easier to clean. There are four currently available from The Granny Square.
In my own collection I have a wonderful boxed set of four Drinkups.
I am stocking some Ladybird books in The Granny Square, the selection will update and change as more become available. To start with I have British Wild Flowers, Ali Baba and the forty thieves, Trees, and Wild Life in Britain.
These would make great addition to an existing collection, the start of a new collection, or a great way to add some vintage to a child’s room.
I love this paper flower kit from Priscilla Lobley, the 1970s illustrations are brilliant and I love anything purple. If you like this kit too it is available here.
I love a vintage tin and have quite a collection of my own, they are so useful for storing little bits and pieces and look prettier than a cardboard box. I was quite excited to find this Blue Bird Assorted Toffee tin featuring a Yacht Racing picture. The bottom of the tin is a lovely blue colour and there is a lovely design inside the lid. This tin is available here.
One of my favourite brands is Rosti, originally a Danish company. Although the company is still going it is the wonderfully bold coloured melamine items they made during the 1960s and 1970s that I love. I have a large collection of their mixing bowls and utensils, but it is the egg cups I like the most. These egg cups were designed by Bjorn Christensen.
I am trying to build up a collection of all the colours, I still need to find some in blue and white. If you like these egg cups too there are four available from The Granny Square.
The egg cups have space in the middle for your egg and a wide rim for your spoon or toast soldiers. The design means that they are easy to stack for storage or display.
There are some vintage knitting patterns available in my shop now. You could make them up for an authentic piece of vintage knitwear, or they would look nice framed.
The pattern on this small purse or make-up bag is so psychedelic and the feel of the materials says to me that it must be from the early 1970s at the latest.
It would make a good sized purse or, as it has a plastic lining, a useful small make-up bag.
You can purchase this item in my shop.
This set of four napkins is presented in a nice box and still has its cellophane wrapping.
Each cream linen napkin features the same floral design embroidered in vibrant colours.
